Iris Mok
irisfmok@hotmail.com
(310)384-8272
Services offered: Postpartum Care, Lactation Stimulation and Belly Binding

My name is Iris Mok and I am a postpartum doula.  I immigrated from Hong Kong to the US 30 years ago and I have been living with my husband and two daughters in West Lebanon since 1996. Swimming and yoga are my favorite hobbies and I adore working with children. My career began when I worked for School Administrative District #88 in Lebanon in the Beginning Preschool Program as a Paraprofessional & Chinese International Student Interpreter from 2001 to 2016.

After spending the past 10 years supporting many Chinese immigrants and Dartmouth College Chinese International students after they gave birth, I realized that postpartum support is desperately needed for new parents. After my daughters left for college and I became an empty nester, I traveled back to Hong Kong frequently to visit my relatives. While I was there, I noticed a huge demand for postpartum care and enrolled in the Postpartum Doula certification course.  I decided to get certified and began my professional career as a postpartum doula.  I also received my certifications in Lactation Stimulation, Herbal Healing Nutrition and Abdomen Binding, which are very beneficial for postpartum moms. After completing the certifications, I began my professional career with my first client in Los Angeles two years ago and returned to the Upper Valley in May 2020 to continue my journey as a postpartum doula.

I believe that with my wealth of knowledge, compassion, thoughtfulness, experience and care, I am able to wholeheartedly support all moms and their partners as they welcome their beautiful newborn babies into their lives.

Services offered: postpartum support, overnight newborn care, care of preemies and multiples, birth photography

I became a doula in high school after photographing a few births. While most kids were at Friday night football games I was at the local birth center or hospital. I graduated two years early and spent a year traveling. Once I settled down I started focusing mainly on postpartum support and travel services. I love helping parents find a routine that works for them and get settled in during the transitional postpartum period. Being around birth and newborns has been normal to me my whole life. I’m one of seven kids, one of which was a home birth and one was a car birth! I’m extremely passionate about birth and postpartum. I think finding your village is so important and I’m honored that I get to be a part of that village.

I find it incredibly challenging to describe the depth of meaning behind being a doula. Pregnancy and the birth experience moves me - it is nothing short of a miracle.  The opportunity to be with a family, however defined, during such an intimate and progressive moment in life, is a gift. As a doula, I will help bring forth the needs and desires of the family to guide them through to the moment their baby is born. I am passionate about supporting the miracle and embracing the gift.

Now, let me take a moment to introduce myself. I am Luci Tarr, a doula supporting the birth experience throughout the Upper Valley of Vermont and New Hampshire.  I value the bond of family and the emotion and strength that lives within that bond. I believe it allows me to provide the utmost care and support in all situations. No matter what your birth plan might be, natural or medically supported, I believe that the continuous support of a doula helps birthing women and their partners have the experience they desire.

I welcome the opportunity to speak with you and answer any questions that you may have.

Well Maiden Doula and Healing Services
Katie Williams RN-BSN, CLC

wellmaidens@gmail.com
Services offered: virtual and in person postpartum holistic care and consultation, virtual and in person birth and postpartum education, lactation support, back-up birth doula support

Katie completed her traditional training as a Registered Nurse in 2008. Her nursing clinical background is rooted in a maternal child framework through a community and homecare paradigm with a trauma focused approach. Her training outside of nursing, as a holistic practitioner and birth keeper, is dynamic and continuously evolving.

After completing her initial Doula training with DONA in 2011, she decided to pursue a more in depth learning with Birthing From Within (BFW) and will soon be certified as a Mentor. After attending birth for over ten years in the Upper Valley, she came to realize that she could have the greatest impact by focusing on the postpartum experience. She is a certified INNATE provider and Lactation Counselor (CLC).

If you were to work with Katie in a postpartum capacity you could expect her to offer what would be considered a traditional postpartum doula role alongside a more integrative approach. This approach blends whole foods nutrition with body care practices such as moxa-bustion treatment, closing of the bones, massage and herbal techniques like yoni steaming and bathing to facilitate the body’s healing after birth. These sessions, depending on your needs, last two to four hours. Her availability is primarily during evening and weekend hours.

Katie does offer prenatal education support to groups and individuals through the lens of BFW and INNATE.  She also hosts classes that extend beyond the perinatal time and introduce how you can cultivate and integrate food and herbs as healing practices for the journey of woman, parent and family.

Katie cares deeply about holding a practice and nourishing a growing community that feels safe to BIPOC, LGTBQ, low income people and single mothers. All are welcome here.

Are you a trained doula serving the Upper Valley of VT/NH? Please contact me about adding your bio to this page.
